3 comments so far (post your own)John Madsen came to the club in December 1966 and proved to be a solid, reliable centre-half. It was, perhaps, a pity he was not a bit younger as Hibs could have paired him with the emerging John Blackley for years to come. In fact he left the club in 1970 to return to Esjberg as an amateur and resume his career as an architect.

Great player! My memory of Madson is he always played in baseball boots in icey conditions, everyone else skidded around, not John!!!

I am his son. And we - me dog (Bine) and I will be up in Edinburgh if possible on the 7th to the 11th of nov 2017 to se the pictures of John at, and the stadium if possible, me old school and so on.
