Jim Mulkerrin joined the club in 1950. As a centre-forward he was mainly a back-up for Lawrie Reilly. Moved on in March 1957 when he signed for Accrington Stanley. In his early days at Easter Road he worked as a painter in Dumbarton and trained at Boghead Park to cut down on his travel.

Also played for Tranmere Rovers and Northwich Victoria.
