John Madsen came to the club in December 1966 and proved to be a solid, reliable centre-half. It was, perhaps, a pity he was not a bit younger as Hibs could have paired him with the emerging John Blackley for years to come. In fact he left the club in 1970 to return to Esjberg as an amateur and resume his career as an architect.

Great player! My memory of Madson is he always played in baseball boots in icey conditions, everyone else skidded around, not John!!!
