This was Jimmy Caskie's last game for the club (he scored twice). He was described as Perth's Public Entertainer No 1 when four days later he signed for Everton in time to assist them to the Football League Championship that season. He went on to play in 9 war-time internationals against England. He died in Glasgow on 19 May 1977.

Everton agreed to play a game at Muirton in September 1939 for expenses only when they signed Jimmy Caskie. The war prevented the game being played. Is Everton's obligation to play in Perth still outstanding? Just a thought.
