In the 84th minute Alex Cropley struck a fantastic shot from 25 yards which tore into the net high past Jim Cruickshank. It has to be one of the best goals ever scored by a Hibs player at Tynecastle. "Hammy", on for Stevenson, settled it with a goal in the last minute.

Referee :- R.H. Davidson, Airdrie.
