This was Jimmy Caskie's first game for Hibs after leaving St Mirren and it indirectly led to Gordon Smith being dropped from the team for the only time in his long career at Easter Road. Jimmy Caskie played in 9 war-time internationals, 5 of them as a Hibs' player
