My g/grandad,Michael McGrath played for the first Hibs team.Michael Whelahan was his best man on his marriage in St.Pat's, Edinburgh. It has been family lore that my g/gdad came from Rosscommon.
Does anyone know how I might find out if this is the case? E.g. parish records or some other sources.
With thanks, Dr. Michael McGrath

Hello Dr McGrath. We appear to be distantly related as Michael McGrath is also my Great Granddad.
My Grandma is his daughter Mary.
Hope to hear from you.
Sorry I cannot help with your query.
