John Young is not featured in Jim Jeffrey's book "Hibernian : The Players and Managers 1946-2009" (Breedon Publishing, 17 June 2009). (edited by moderator)

John Young joined the club in 1970. An apprentice welder, his best years were with St Mirren where he won the First Division title in 1976/77 and the Anglo Scottish Cup in 1980.

Other clubs were Falkirk, Hong Kong Rangers, QOS, Morton, Brechin City and Arbroath.

Also managed Arbroath and Brechin City.
