Alistair MacLeod cracked in the first goal, and made the second for Bobby Smith with a glorious crossfield pass right into his colleague's path. Alistair Scott got the third when he pounced on a slack pass back by their pivot John Gallacher.
Willie Gibson scored for Hearts.
