Bobby also won 5 caps for Wales whilst with Hibs.

He was K.I.A. in the English Channel in November 1917.

After retirement he became a steward in the Merchant Navy. It was while serving on the ship the S.S. Britannia that he lost his life on 19th October 1917, after his ship disappeared without trace, either due to a mine or enemy action. He is mentioned at Tower Hill Memorial.
