Willie Mercer joined the club in 1898. He was a skilful but hardy and powerful left-winger, who packed a tremendous shot in either foot. After a short spell at Glossop NE he returned to Cowdenbeath where he gave the club great service before finishing his career in 1909.
Also, a founder member and official of Lumphinnans Bowling Club.
