Other info :- Came to Grimsby Town as a promising youngster ('very fast and a thorough athlete'). Had two brothers, also professionals and also half-backs, Peter (Bury) and William (Bradford City).

Harry Gildea was killed in action on 9th April 1917 while serving with the Black Watch. Service no : S/8801.
