Willie Temperley came to Hibs in 1978. His career as a Celt never got off the ground and he failed to make a single first-team appearance. It was, therefore, somewhat ironic that he should score the goal in September 1978 which gave the club their first League win at Parkhead in nine years.

Also played for Meadowbank Thistle, Linlithgow Rose, Dunipace and Bo'ness United.

I'm a Celtic supporter but I have to say that Willies goal was a cracker(he also had another goal disallowed that day). Ironically it was his first return to Celtic Park after Hibs signed him. His celebration was memorable! He summersaulted in front of Jock Stein and gave the 'V' sign as if to say "you were wrong to let me leave. Get it up ye!" (edited by moderator)
