John Parke captained the side for the first time, in the absence of John Fraser who had a knee injury. Neil Martin also dropped out due to a badly gashed shin sustained against Morton the previous week. The late penalty by Jim Scott took his tally to 17 for the season, third behind Jim Forrest (Rangers) and Steve Chalmers (Celtic) among Scotland's top scorers.

Referee :- J.M. Wallace, Lenzie.
