Celtic scored after 12 minutes when Hugh Whyte failed to hold a Harry Hood cross, and Dixie Deans leapt above Stanton to head home. Celtic killed the game on 80 minutes - Hood again the instigator - he cut the ball back from the bye-line for Steve Murray to slide in on the seat of his shorts and prod it over the line.
