Jim Baxter slowed the game down too much for Rangers and was generally ineffective. Hibs' big success was the precocious Peter Marinello, who joined Arsenal two months later.

First time at Ibrox A crowd of us from St Auggies went through on the train arrived late and ended up in the Copeland Road... scarves up the dukes...learned the words to the sash pretty sharpish
We canny have been that late though as we saw 'Nello's first goal We had already beat Celtic & Hearts away and were top of the league at Christmas
