John Devlin swept in the first goal from Smith's low cross. Stirton Smith equalised for Hearts when he took Donaldson's pass and shot home from 20 yards. After the break Nutley restored Hibs' lead with a deft back-heeler. Smith then stabbed home the third from Kean's pass.

Referee :- C.R. Blues, Glasgow.
