Roy Baines joined the club in September 1968. However, for all his ability he never quite dominated the scene at Easter Road. Became unsettled by the lack of opportunities and moved to Morton in August 1972.

Also played for Celtic and St Johnstone.

When his playing career ended became a publican in the 'Keeper's Arms' in Tranent.
