Actually made his first team debut on Hibs' Eire Tour Vs Waterford on 23/07/1972 (2-0), - scoring the first goal.
Never really established himself in the team but was a more than useful contributor when selected.
Went to Sydney City after Cowdenbeath.

Willie was famouse for 1) his hair and 2) for his nickname, Ruby, which no young supporter understood
